Martina Pfleger Hesser received her Master’s degree and her PhD in Art History from the University of Vienna in Austria, where she studied under Konrad Oberhuber. During the course of her studies Martina received a Fulbright scholarship and studied at the University of California Santa Barbara under Peter Meller. In her research she focuses on Renaissance and Baroque art in Italy (here in particular the Este court in Ferrara) and Spain (Spanish still life painting). She has both presented and published in this capacity. She currently teaches Art History at San Diego Mesa College, Grossmont College, and UCSD Extension. Recently she has won a distinguished teacher award at Grossmont College. Martina is also a member of the Education Committee at the College Art Association. martinahesser@yahoo.com
